From the western shores of the Isle of Skye, in the tall shadows of the Cuillin Hills, comes a single malt like no other. An alluring, sweet, full-bodied spirit with a warming afterglow so easy to enjoy yet, like Skye itself, so hard to leave. Time has mellowed but not tamed this powerful 18 year old Talisker, made beside Loch Harport in the shadow of the Cuillin range. A rich, sweet nose introduces familiar, smoky maritime aromas. Full-bodied, this smooth malt opens sweetly, then becomes more assertive, with a whiff of smoke. It has an unmistakeable, richly warming finish, more subtle here than in the 10 year old.
Color: Amber; Nose: Complex, fruity. Ripe fruts, prunes. Evoluates on toffee and rum, on a background of smoky notes. Seaweed, iodine. Very fresh, menthol; Palate : rich, smooth. Sweet attack on a smoky background. Taste evoluates on coaltar and toffee; Finish: lingering, firm. Spices(pepper), iodine and salt. Hints of citrus fruit (orange) precious wood, camphor and leather.
