92 Points - The Wine Advocate
""It bursts from the glass with tons of richness and concentration for the year. Dark red fruit, flowers and licorice wrap around the insistent, powerful finish. The fleshy, radiant finish is unusual for the year. This is one of the best Baroli readers will find for the money. I loved it."
90 Points- The Wine Advocate:
The 2005 vintage was not kind to brothers Aldo and Riccardo Seghesio, as they lost half of their Barolo production. The 2005 Barolo La Villa is a pretty, soft-textured wine. Medium in body, the wine reveals a fresh, fruit-driven personality with good complexity and no hard edges. The wine’s accessible style and balance makes up for any complexity that is missing in this vintage, while the oak is integrated quite nicely. Maturity: 2009-2015
