Situated at an altitude that ranges from 250 to 300 metres, the Campogiovanni estate stretches across some 65 hectares of the southwest-facing
slope of the Montalcino Mountain, which is most exposed to the beneficial effects of the mild sea breeze. San Felice's interest in the Montalcino area
dates back to the early eighties when the Brunello territory was going through a period of flux, but had not yet reached the heights of excellence and
notoriety that nowadays distinguish it. One year later, on January 1st 1985, the first bottles of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG were delivered into the
market, according to the decree of July 1st 1980 which recognized the Brunello as the first DOCG in Italy.
