Peju Estate Chardonnay Napa Valley 2005/6

This wine was whole cluster pressed, fermented in a combination of new French oak, seasoned French oak, and stainless steel. It was barrel aged “sur lie” for 8 months. 40% of the wine was inoculated for malolactic fermentation.

Aromas of green apple, papaya, peach, spice, with hints of smoke & toast. Full round, rich mid palate from the “sur lie” barrel ageing. Flavors of crisp green apple, fresh pear, ripe papaya, and a creamy texture from the “sur lie” ageing, and a slight minerality on the finish
