Equivalent to Macallan 30 Year Single Malt Scotch For Half The Cost (Comprable With Scotches That Cost Over $2600) 42 Years Old AROMA WITHOUT WATER :Initial burst of sherry sweetness, with subtle rum and raisin notes. Some marzipan and almonds with a hint of vanilla lingering. Some subtle bees wax polish and a touch of charred oak develop. TASTE WITHOUT WATER :Sweet and Sherried, with Christmas cake influences and some hints of warm festive spices. Followed by some dark chocolate with a burst of citrus peel. AROMA WITH WATER : Fresh, with some pronounced sweet Sherry notes, hints of stewed fruits and a mulled wine edge. Some delicate vanilla and hints of cream fudge emerges. TASTE WITH WATER : Burst of Sherry, with a delicate stewed plum edge, creamy and smooth with a defined hint of dark chocolate lingering. A very delicate touch of ash lingers. Whisky Advocate: "On more familiar ground with this G&M bottling of one of Speyside’s most iconic single malts, this is Macallan in full-on sherried form. Highly aromatic with powdered clove, hints of incense and fig, behind which is cacao, Bolivar cigar, and molasses. The palate has immediate smoke and surprisingly gentle tannins — the inherent oiliness of the spirit keeping any grip at bay. Very long, leathery, prune-like (think armagnac), and dense. A classic after-dinner mouth-filler."
