"A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, the medium-bodied 2011 De Pez possesses power and richness as well as some earthy, mineral, chalk, black currant and black cherry notes. A successful wine for the vintage, it should drink well for a decade. "

"A very firm and closed wine. It has intense tannins, with the fruit following slowly behind. The structure is impressive, while the black-currant flavors are still to show. "
The Château de Pez estate covers more than 26 hectares. The wines are left to ferment in traditional oak vats before being blended, and left to develop for a period of 16 to 18 months in oak barrels, 40 percent of them new.
